Mistakes You Make While Selecting A Cell Phone Booster

Cell phone boosters are the most popular solution to cellular signal issues. Although it has simple operation, its selection and installation processes demand proper attention.

Here are some of the mistakes you make while selecting a signal booster.

Not Analyzing The Signal Strength At Your Place

Before you go ahead with selecting a signal booster and installing it at your place, you should have an idea about the available signal strength at your place. A cell phone booster does not make cellular signals on its own, meaning that if a place has no signals at all, the device does not come of use. It processes the available signals in order to boost the strength of the signal. No signal means the device has no input and hence produces no output.

Use a signal meter to measure the signal at your place and ensure that the place has minimum required signal strength for signal repeater operation.

Not Giving Attention To Coverage Area Of The Device

The coverage area of all signal boosters is not going to be the same. You should have a clear idea about the area that should be covered by the signal booster you are installing at your place and select a booster accordingly.

A Cell phone booster that covers a small vehicle would not be suitable for an RV. The same applies for buildings and homes as well.

Going With A Random Antenna Type

There is more than one type of antenna for signal boosters. For an outdoor antenna, the directions from which signals are pulled determines the antenna type, while for an indoor antenna, the directions to which signals are broadcasted decides their types.

If your place has a single cell tower, your external antenna has to pick maximum signals coming from the tower direction. A unidirectional external antenna is ideal in this case. If your place has multiple transmitting towers, an omni-directional antenna would be required.

When it comes to indoor antenna, you can either choose a dome or panel antenna.  Dome antenna broadcasts signals in all directions while panel antenna broadcasts signals in a single direction. If you have to cover a large space on the same level, you can use a dome antenna. On the other hand, if you have to cover multiple floors in a building, a panel antenna will be best.

Avoiding these possible mistakes in cell phone booster selection will guarantee you uninterrupted signal reception.
